Grace Evelyn Downey Megginson age 93 of Thomasville, AL died November 24, 2015 at Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham, AL. She was born April 16, 1922 in Campbell, AL. Grace was a civic leader having served on the Thomasville City Council since 1996. She was a member of the Thomasville Health Care and Rehabilitation Board, the Choctaw Corner Cemetery Board, the Original Civic Center Committee and the Thomasville City Personnel Board. She was a retired business manager for Thomasville Hospital and was a member of the Thomasville United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Carole Teague of North Shelby Co., AL; her sister, Mary Ann Ricketts of Millers Ferry, AL; and a sister-in-law, Catherine Downey of Thomasville, AL; 3 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Thomasville United Methodist Church on Friday, November 27, 2015 from 1:00 pm until the 2:00 pm service time with Rev. Nancy Watson officiating. Burial will be at Choctaw Corner Cemetery in Thomasville, AL.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Thomasville United Methodist Church.
