Mendy Grey Evans age 89 a retired seamstress of Arlington, AL died December 24, 2017 at Thomasville Health Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was born September 11, 1928 in Pine Hill, AL to Jesse Frank and Lula McGilberry. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Pine Hill, AL and the Pine Hill Nutrition Center.

She is survived by her three sons, Charlie (Louise) Evans of Arlington, AL; Johnny (Patti) Evans of Arlington, AL; and Thomas Earl (Beckie) Evans of Arlington, AL; daughter, Sue Maness of Arlington, AL; two sisters, Frankie Gibson of Jackson, AL; and Ann Riggins of Pine Hill, AL; six grandchildren, Jason Maness, Suzanne Maness, Jodie Rutherford, Jessica Mann, Sonya Evans, and Miranda Ingram; seven great grandchildren, River, Jay, Arlie, Tyler, Carlie, Cameron, and Paisley.

Visitation will be held at O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 from 10:30 am until 11:30 am. Graveside funeral services will follow at County Line Baptist Church Cemetery at 12:00 noon with Rev. Irby Weaver officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family ask for donations to be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to your favorite charity.
