Georgia Lynn Sturdivant Compton age 87 a homemaker of Linden, AL died May 24, 2016 at Marengo Nursing Home. She was born May 16, 1929 in Boligee, AL. She was a member of Jefferson United Methodist Church, Jefferson Community Club, and the Red Hat Club.
She is survived by her son, Edward B. Compton, Jr. of Demopolis, AL; four daughters, Laura Compton Washburn of Greensboro, AL; Bettie Louise Compton Bozeman of Demopolis, AL; Jackie Compton Ward of Trussville, AL; and Jean Compton Evans of Jefferson, AL; four brothers, Carl Elliott of Demopolis, AL; Clyde Elliott of Linden, AL; Luther Elliott of Demopolis, AL; and John Henry Elliott of Demopolis, AL; two sisters, Julia Boyd of Livingston, AL; and Anita Couch of Demopolis, AL; eight grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Jefferson United Methodist Church on Friday, May 27, 2016 from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am service time with Andy Morgan officiating. Burial will be in the Jefferson Cemetery.
