Rex Lavurl Vaughan, age 78, of Linden, AL died June 17, 2011 at Bryan Whitfield Hospital. He was born July 15, 1932 in Westville, FL. He was a member of Forest Hill Baptist Church. Mr. Vaughan retired after working 31 years as a paper mill supervisor. After retirement, he worked for the Demopolis City School System as a bus driver. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the 82nd Air Borne.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Joan Segers Vaughan of Linden, AL; two sons, Michael Rex (Dee) Vaughan of Hoover, AL; Daniel Avery Vaughan of Linden, AL; brother, Quinton (Claudette) Vaughan of Tallahasse, FL; sister, Janice Vaughan (Carl) Dunn of Albany, GA; 3 three grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Wendy Gail Vaughan Richards.

Visitation will be held at the Forest Hill Baptist Church on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 from 12:00 noon until the 1:00 pm service time. Burial will be in the Linden Memorial Park.

Active Pallbearers will be: Mike Vaughan, Bo Richards, Wesley Richards, Harley Thomas, Buster Glass, Arthur Glass.
