Clarence Eugene Smith age 86 of Thomasville, AL died March 28, 2023 at Mobile Infirmary. He was born October 19, 1936 in Evergreen, AL to Herbert E. and Alpha D. Smith. He was a retired Thomasville Police Officer and DARE Officer. He was a member of Midway Baptist Church.
He is survived by a step son, Danny Wayne Rogers, Jr. (Lauri); daughter, Melynda Hodge (Alan); sister, Annie Mae McNiel; two brothers, John Smith (Jeanne) and James Smith (Mot); seven grandchildren, Sarah Joye Hook-Rogers (Elizabeth), Joel Dement Rogers (Brittany), Justin David Rogers, Amanda Mitchell, David Hood (Sam), Albert Hodge (Traci), and Kyra Thorne (Brad); niece, Joye Katrina Dement (Jen Newsome); nephew, James Byron Dement (Stacey); and nine great grandchildren, Skylar, Lowen, Alex, Luke, Caleb, Kaylie, Cal, Riley, and Emily.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Joye D. Smith; daughter, Beverly Precise; and his parents, Herbert E. and Alpha D. Smith.
Graveside funeral services will be held at Midway Baptist Church Cemetery at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 1, 2023.
