Obituary for Melvin Smith
Melvin Smith, 90 years old, went home to be with the Lord peacefully on February 13th. He served in the US Navy and worked in shipping and textiles at Simplex.
He is preceded in death by his parents Benjamin and Vena Smith, grandson, Jared Colby Parker and great granddaughter, Zoey Kathryn Marion.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Naomi Smith, children, Vicki Smith Parker (Butch) and Ricky Smith (Diane), grandchildren, Erin Parker, Chelsea Parker Marion (Brian), Chase Smith, Reid Smith (Karma), and great grandchildren, Adelaide Irene Marion, Wesley Dean Smith, Kamey Mesamore, and Ivey Mesamore. He is also survived by his sister, Betty Burch.
Visitation will be held at Midway Baptist Church on Wednesday, February 15th, at 1pm and service following at 2pm with Bro. Steve Trader officiating. Burial will follow at Midway Baptist Church Cemetery.
