Obituary for Velpo Waldrope, Jr.
Velpo Waldrope, Jr., age 74 of Sweet Water, AL died January 29, 2023 at Mobile Infirmary. He was born October 11, 1948 in Montgomery, AL to Velpo and Elsie Mae Waldrope. He was a retired electrician and a member of Hoboken Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Nell H. Waldrope; daughter, Jennifer Waldrope Worley (Timmy); two sisters, Leona Morrison and Pat Shields; brother, James Waldrope; brother-in-law, Jerry Huckabee; grandchild, Gant Worley; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday, February 2, 2023. Graveside funeral services will be held at Sweet Water Cemetery on Friday, February 3, 2023 at 11:00 am with Rev. Larry Cox and Rev. Billy Ballard officiating.
