Carolyn Jackson Colburn age 94 of Pine Hill, AL died January 30, 2023 at her home. She was born July 6, 1928 in Pine Hill, AL to Edd Lee and Minnie Burge Jackson. She was a homemaker and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church where she was treasurer and secretary for fifty two years. She also taught the youth and was pianist for thirty years or longer.

She is survived by three children, Carol Ann Colburn Pezent, James “Jimmy” Colburn, Jr. (Billie Shaw Colburn), and Mary Lee Colburn Wright (Tommy); three brothers, Robert Franklin Jackson (Helen), James Ralph “Pie” Jackson (Phyllis), Harry Truman Jackson; two sisters, Ann Green and Hazel Drummond; six grandchildren, Amanda Delgado, Tara Wright, Michelle Colburn, Chassidy Nelson, Lee Wright, and James Colburn, III; six great grandchildren, Lauren Hendrick, Olivia Delgado, Jaxson Nelson, Summer Nelson, Remington Colburn, and Kylee Bishop; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Fred “Jim” Colburn, Sr.; three children, William Dallas Colburn, Virginia Allen Colburn, and Eddie Byron Colburn; her parents, Edd Lee and Minnie Burge Jackson; and her in-laws, Byron and Virginia Lightfoot Colburn.

Visitation will be held at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 from 1:00 pm until the 2:00 pm service time with Rev. Warren Huggins officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Pine Hill, AL.
