Obituary for Gloria Jean Murphy
Gloria Jean Murphy age 82 of Thomasville, AL died January 8, 2023 at Crown Health Care of Thomasville after a long battle with cancer. She was born August 9, 1940 in Chadwick, IL to Julius and Hazel Dora Eickert. She married Alton Haywood Murphy in 1967 and moved to Grove Hill, AL. She was a long time employee at Simplex Industries. Gloria loved her family, children, animals and she was a jokester.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alton Haywood Murphy; son, Timothy Haywood Murphy; her parents, Julius and Hazel Dora Eickert; and four sisters and four brothers.
She will be missed by her dear friends, Linda and David Lindsey.
Graveside funeral services will be held at Center Point Baptist Church Cemetery on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at 2:00 pm with Hospice Chaplain Melissa Ball officiating.
