Charlie Lee Courtney age 73 died September 10, 2022 at his home in Gallion, AL. He was born March 17, 1949 in Selma, AL to Bush Chinmon Courtney and Minnie Lee Lewis Courtney.

Charlie was retired from Georgia Pacific as a millwright. He was a member of Forest Hill Baptist Church in Linden, AL and a member of St. Albans Masonic Lodge # 22 F & AM in Linden, AL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, loving wife of 48 years, Katherine Rose Courtney, sisters, Sarah Reynolds and Peggy Minard.

He is survived by his children, April Courtney (Chris) and Joe Courtney; grandchildren, James Courtney, Jason Courtney (Heather), Breanna Gill (Will), Bradley Courtney (Katrina), Chelsea Courtney (Austin), and Tristan Courtney; and six great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Linden, AL on Monday, September 12, 2022 from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Graveside funeral services will be held at Quinney Family Cemetery on Courtney Hill in Gallions, AL at 10:00 am with John Courtney officiating.

Serving as pallbearers are Norman Jones, Gene Sammons, Wayne Lewis, Bull Jordan, Donnie Barrineau, and Tony Minard.

Honorary pallbearers are member of St. Albans Masonic Lodge # 22 F & AM and Ricky Phillips and Alvin Autry.
