Obituary for Sherry Sealy Gibson
If ever there is a tomorrow when we are not together, there is something you must always remember: You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. Most importantly, if we are ever apart, just know we will always be with you.
Sherry Sealy Gibson sadly passed away on August 5, 2022 at the age of 63. She was born on June 12, 1959 to Obie Gaines & Willard Dean Sealy. She graduated from Marengo County High School, class of 1977, then married her high school sweetheart the next week on June 4, 1977.
She was a wonderful wife, mother, and MeMaw. She was always there, no matter what. She was the foundation that held us together. She always taught us to look on the bright side of life's challenges, even when faced with great adversity. She had many friends and neighbors who loved her dearly. We will all miss her bright smile that was followed by her gentle, kind laughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Obie G. and Willard D. Sealy; and brother, Mark Shane Sealy.
She is survived by her husband, James Hayward Gibson; son, James Clinton Gibson (Trista); daughter, Abby Yvonne Gibson; grandchildren, James Levi Gibson, Alysa Dickson, & Phoenix Black; brothers, Michael (Sharon) & Wardel Sealy; and many other family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 from 5-7 PM at Serenity Funeral Home. There will be a graveside service on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at 2 PM in Magnolia Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Cemetery on County Road 36. A procession will leave from O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville, AL at 12:30 PM going to the graveside.
