Obituary for Larry Russell Etheridge
Memorial service for Larry Russell Etheridge age 77 of Linden, AL will be held at Linden Baptist Church on Thursday, July 7, 2022 at 11:00 am with Dr. Chris Kynard officiating.
He was a life time member of Linden Baptist Church where he was the Librarian and current Historian.
Larry was born October 28, 1944 and passed away Saturday, July 2, 2022 at Princeton Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham, AL.
His nieces and nephews knew him as “Unk” and he cherished all the time he got to spend with them. He was a graduate of Auburn University and retired from Gulf States Paper and Rock-Tenn after 40 years of service. The last 12 years he spent in his “retirement ministry” helping many young and old friends with their computers. A geek he was. He would accept no pay, and requested donations be made to his favorite charity, Bigbee Humane Society.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Glass Etheridge; sister, Linda Etheridge Beshears (Buddy); niece, Amy Beshears Duke (Dan); nephew, Blake Beshears; sister-in-law, Mary Elizabeth Holmes Glass; niece, Katharine Glass Smith (Andy); nephew, Elliott W. Glass, III (Laura Beth); nephew, John Holmes Glass; a number of great nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog – Garbo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Jackie Etheridge, and Judy’s brother, Bill Glass.
