Obituary for Jimmy Lewis Powell
Jimmy Lewis "Doc" Powell age 89 of Grove Hill, AL died June 24, 2022 at his home. He was born February 26, 1933 in Pigeon Creek, AL to James Henry and Elizabeth Alexander Powell. He was a retired carpenter and a member of Tompkins Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, June Pugh Powell; two sons, Don Faile (Sharon) and Jimmy "Bo” Powell (Cindy); two sisters, Annie Jo Leverett and Virgie Sellers; six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two daughters, Audrey Ann McKinley and Debra Faye Courtney; grandchild, Brandon Courtney; three brothers, John Henry Powell, William Ray “Bill” Powell, and Leroy Powell; three sisters, Aleen Brewer, Lillie Mae Boswell and Ula Ve Boswell.
Visitation will be held at Tompkins Baptist Church Tuesday , June 28, 2022 from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am service time with Dr. Johnny Kendrick officiating. Burial will follow at Tompkins Baptist Church Cemetery.
