Obituary for Emmett McConnell
Charles Emmett McConnell, Jr. age 88 of Pine Hill, AL died January 25, 2021 at J. Paul Jones Hospital. He was born April 14, 1932 in Rayville, LA to Charles Emmett McConnell, Sr. and Linnie Averitt McConnell. He was a member of Pine Hill United Methodist Church and a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
He is survived by his wife, Roberta T. Jordan; step-son, Danny Jordan (Diane); step-daughter, Deborah J. Kirkland; brother, Chester McConnell (Dorothy); sister, Erin Henson; two grandchildren and three great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and caregiver, Mildred Peterson.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Ellen Staggs McConnell, Susan Gaston McConnell, and Mary Ann Jones McConnell; his parents, Charles Emmett McConnell, Sr. and Linnie Averitt McConnell; two brothers, Charles Eugene McConnell and George Raymond McConnell; three sisters, Eleanor McConnell Blegeborn, Jimmie McConnell McWhorter, and Joan McConnell.
Graveside funeral services will be held at Pine Hill Cemetery on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at 11:00 am with Rev. Reba D. Wiley officiating. Visitation will be held at the graveside from 10:30 to 11:00 am.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
