Obituary for Ernest Hayne Slade
Ernest Hayne Slade age 78 of Thomasville, AL died December 20, 2020 at his home. He was born March 15, 1942 in Thomasville, AL to Charlie H. and Clara Adell Slade. He was retired from Ciba Geigy after 42 years. He was an active member of Elam Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of almost 58 years (December 25, 1962), Faye Dixon Slade; two daughters, Dana Slade Jackson and Desney Slade Smith (Walter); daughter-in-law, Lynne Slade; six grandchildren, Kristen Watts (Patrick), Jenni and Hannah Slade, and Matthew, Curtis, and Malaine Smith; one great grandchild, Greyson Slade and one due any day, Sawyer Watts; two brothers, Willis Slade and Charles Slade; and sister, Shelvy Armistead.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Deryke Hayne Slade; and infant daughter, Jennifer Slade.
Visitation will be held at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 from 1:00 pm until the 2:00 pm service time with Rev. Larry Darden, Rev. Fred Odom, Rev. Don Newton, and Rev. William Faircloth officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery.
