Martell Edgar Pope age 90 a former millwright of Thomasville, AL died August 14, 2020 at his home. He was born September 14, 1929 in Morvin, AL to Albert Bass and Lillie Norman Pope. He was a member of Bashi United Methodist Church, and Oliver Lodge #334 F&AM.

He is survived by two daughters, Deneen (Jerry) Hawk and Vanessa (Rocky) Phillips;; sister, Georgie Ann (Tommie) Shepard of Sweet Water, AL; grandchildren, Clint Pope, Rob Pope, Cody Pope, William (Katie) Phillips, and Justin (Kayla) Phillips, Nikki Hawk; great grandchildren, Lincoln Phillips, Titus Phillips, Hunter Pope, Drew Downs, Kamden Phillips, and Brookleigh Phillips.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Voncille Pope; son, Shelton Pope; his parents; brothers, Lester (Luck) Pope and Robert Bass Pope; and sister, Margaret Elizabeth Pope.

Graveside funeral services will be held at Bashi United Methodist Church Cemetery on Monday, August 17, 2020 at 3:00 pm with Rev. Clay Davis officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Bashi United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund in care of Sandra Mott, 8718 Bashi Road, Thomasville, AL 36784.
