Obituary for Roy Etheridge, Sr.
Roy Etheridge, Sr. age 93 of Beaver Creek, AL died Thursday, March 19, 2020 at his home. He was born May 25, 1926 in Sweet Water and was retired a cotton farmer. He was a member of Beaver Creek Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and was a World War II, US Army, 15 Fighter Group veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Etheridge of Beaver Creek, married 68 years: two sons, Roy (Wendy) Etheridge, Jr. of Thomaston; and Bob (Deborah) Etheridge of Beaver Creek; grandchildren, Trey (Ruth) Etheridge and Anna Elizabeth (Morgan) Autery; and five great grandchildren, Lane and Walt Etheridge, and Tsianina, Bailey, and Sadie Autery.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Betty Etheridge; three brothers, William Etheridge, Cecil “Bug” Etheridge, and Henri Etheridge; five sisters, Sadie Etheridge, Mary Etheridge, Jimmy Mayton, Sara Nolan, and Elma “Dee” Glass; and granddaughter, Cheyenne Etheridge.
Graveside funeral services will be held at Beaver Creek Cemetery on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at 11:00 am with Rev. Sidney B. Hill and Rev. Lister Hill officiating.
