She was a lifelong resident of Wilcox County, a graduate of Pine Hill High School and a faithful member of the Thomasville Church of Christ. On June 8, 1949, she married James Henry Arnold and they made their home in Pine Hill. Memaw, as she was lovingly known by her family, was a woman of many talents. She was famous for her coconut cake, Peter Paul Mounds cake, and chocolate pie. She was a masterful homemaker, seamstress, baker and gardener. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Geneva opened their home to many other extended family members and always made sure there an extra place at the table.
