Obituary for Bernice Hicks
Margie Bernice Hicks age 96 a homemaker of Grove Hill, AL died February 20, 2020 at her home. She was born August 22, 1923 in Walker Springs, AL to Samuel J. and Alma M. Bayles. She was a member of Tompkins Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, James Lee “Jimmy” Hicks (Susan); three daughters, Mary Ann Hicks, Kathy Singleton (Ray), and Gail Powell (Allen); son-in-law, Clyde Williams; brother, Alfred Bayles (Mary); five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, G. D. Hicks; daughter, Sue Williams; parents, Samuel J. and Alma M. Bayles; four brothers, Marvin Bayles, Curtis Bayles, Willard Bayles, and Jimmy Earl Bayles; and sister, Mary Skipper.
Visitation will be held at Tompkins Baptist Church on Saturday, February 22, 2020 from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am service time with Dr. Johnny Kendrick officiating. Burial will follow at Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: Tompkins Baptist Church Building Fund.
