Obituary for Luther Clovis Gaddy

Luther Clovis Gaddy age 81 of Thomasville, AL died January 8, 2020 at Grove Hill Memorial Hospital. He was born September 14, 1938 in Sunny South, AL to Henry Jackson and Mary Estella Gaddy. Luther was retired from MacMillan Bloedel Inc. Maintenance Department and a member of Thomasville Baptist Church. He served on the Thomasville School Board for twelve years, was a former city councilman for the City of Thomasville, he was a member of the American Legion, and a veteran of the US Army, he enjoyed going to Gaston’s Grill with the morning coffee club. Luther was a beloved husband, fiancée, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother.

He is survived by two sons, Luther Scott Gaddy (Anne) of Tuscaloosa, AL and Phillip Vincent Gaddy (Ginger) of Spanish Fort, AL; fiancée, Peggy Daniels of Thomasville, AL; sister, Charlotte Gaddy Champion of Pine Hill, AL; four grandchildren, Mitchell Gaddy, Caitlyn Gaddy, Phillip Gaddy, and Jack Gaddy; two great grandchildren, Charlie Jane Avery and Wyatt John Avery.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Williams Gaddy; his parents, Henry Jackson and Mary Estella Morgan; four brothers, George Gaddy, Dabney Gaddy, Jack Gaddy, and Don Gaddy; sister, Ina Gaddy Freeman.

Visitation will be held at Thomasville Baptist Church on Friday, January 10, 2020 from 1:00 pm until the 2:00 pm service time with Rev. Ty Parden officiating. Burial will follow at Choctaw Corner Cemetery.
