Obituary for Ernest Coleman
James Ernest Coleman age 80 of Jackson, AL died October 17, 2019 at his home. He was born December 23, 1938 in Walker Springs, AL to Harry Sanford and Opal Coleman. He was a retired coal handling supervisor with AEC. He was a member of Walker Springs United Methodist Church and attended Antioch Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Melrose Beck Coleman; daughter, Lisa Coleman Harrell; sister, Marguerite Coleman Davis; four grandchildren, Brittany Harrell Ganus, Jonathan Coleman, Cole Harrell, and Daniel Coleman; and five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, James Michael “Mike” Coleman, his parents, three brothers, Bettis Coleman, Gaines Coleman, and William Coleman, and sister, Kathleen Coleman Wheat.
Visitation will be held at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home on Friday, October 18, 2019 from 1:00 pm until the 2:00 pm service time with Rev. Danny Chancey officiating. Burial will follow at Hopewell Cemetery in Walker Springs, AL.
