Obituary for Larry Clarke Brackin

Larry Clarke Brackin a resident of Greensboro, AL born June 29, 1938 in Linden, AL passed away August 8, 2019 in Tuscaloosa, AL at the age of 81.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon J. and Mary T. Lewis Brackin of Linden, AL.

He is survived by his sister, Linda Wilson (John) of Linden, AL; former spouse, Sara Averette Brackin of Greensboro, AL; niece, Candice Burge (Wally) of Tuscaloosa, AL; nephew, Kendall Wilson of Bessemer, AL; great nieces, Taylor Burge and Sarah Burge and great nephew, John David Wilson.

Larry graduated for Linden High School and worked at the cement plant in Demopolis for 40 years before retiring. For his second career he was a security guard for DCH and other local businesses in Tuscaloosa and served as an usher at UA Football games for many years.

He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He enjoyed spending time supporting local sporting teams and hunting organizations, He liked to travel and went on many cruises and enjoyed spending time attending Tannehill Trade Days and in Biloxi.

He was a member of Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church in Greensboro and prior to that the Linden United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Pleasant Valley Community Post of the American Legion and the local chapters of the Buck Masters and National Wild Turkey Federation.

Graveside funeral services will be held at Linden Memorial Park on Saturday August 10, 2019 at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the South Marengo County Gobbler Chapter of The National Wild Turkey Federation, 25760 US Highway 43, Gallion, AL 36742
