Obituary for Rev. Coyt H. Jordan, Jr.

Rev. Coyt. H. Jordan, Jr. age 90 of Jackson, AL departed this life on February 12, 2019 at Jackson Medical Center. He was born in Myrtlewood, AL to Coyt H. and Annie Lee Jordan, Sr. He attended college at Livingston University and seminary in Oskaloosa, Iowa, where he met his lovely wife of 66 years Marilyn French. He became a Methodist minister in 1951 and served the church faithfully for many years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but his greatest joy in life was leading people to Jesus. He was a prayer warrior who prayed daily with his wife, calling each of his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren by name. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn French Jordan of Jackson, AL; two sons, Coyt H. Jordan, III (Laura) of Panama City, FL and Henry D. Jordan (Caroline) of Port St. Joe, FL; two daughters, Patricia J. Dukes (Billy) of Jackson, AL and Judy Jordan Harris (Butch) of Corpus Christi, TX; a brother, Herman Jordan of Trussville, AL; seven grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Coyt. H. and Annie Lee Jordan, Sr.; sister, Madge Sansing, and infant sister, Imogene Jordan.

Visitation will be held at Campground United Methodist Church on Friday, February 15, 2019 from 12:30 pm until the 1:30 pm service time with Rev. Brian Dukes officiating, assisted by Brandon Dukes, with tribute by Henry Jordan. Burial will follow at Campground United Methodist Church Cemetery in Sweet Water, AL.

Active pallbearers will be Brent Dukes, Brandon Dukes, Hudson Dukes, Dalton Dukes, John Daryl Dukes, and Bill Sansing.

Honorary pallbearers will be Nick Dukes and Landon Dukes.
