Obituary for Wilhelmina Parnell Mallory

Wilhelmina Parnell Mallory, age 98, of Davidson, NC and formerly of Thomasville, Alabama, died on Wednesday, December 12, 2018. She was a daughter of the late Benjamin and May Burns Muckelrath and was born in Smith County, Mississippi.

"Willa,” to her friends and family, was one of the kindest most compassionate ladies that ever graced the lives of those around her. Her dignity and integrity were what she was all about. There are many definitions of integrity, but the family thought this one suited her best: Integrity: means that our ultimate goal and final decisions always lead back to being obedient in following the Lord.

She will always be missed, but forever remembered with such love. Ms. Parnell Mallory was a former member of Thomasville United Methodist Church in Thomasville, Alabama, before she moved to Davidson, North Carolina, to be closer to her family.

Ms. Parnell Mallory is preceded in death by her husband, Covert E. Parnell, husband, Melvin Mallory, and a daughter, Wilhelmina “Hitsy” Parnell Levinson Pirtle of San Diego, CA.

She is survived by Covert E. “Pete” Parnell of Palm Springs, California; Polie M. Parnell and his wife, Cindy of Cornelius, North Carolina; William B Pirtle of San, Diego, CA, and Mary Burns “Burnsie” Mathis and her husband Bill of Atlanta, Georgia.

Her funeral service will be held on Monday, December 17, 2018 at the O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home, 34550 Highway 43, Thomasville, AL 36784 at 11:00am with Hamp Andrews officiating. Burial will follow at Choctaw Corner Cemetery, Thomasville, Alabama.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
