Ruth Etta Gillis age 85 of Grove Hill, AL died December 26, 2017 at Grove Hill Memorial Hospital. She was born August 13, 1932 in California to James Richard and Ruth Leota Keepers.
She was a retired elementary school secretary and a lifelong member of Grace Brethren Fellowship.

She is survived by her husband, Eldred John Gillis, Jr.; three children, Erin Kathleen Kelley, Eldred John Gillis, III, and Kelly Maureen Whitacre; eight grandchildren, Caleb Kelley, Luke Kelley, Nancy Moore, Katie Roche, Eldred John Gillis, IV, James Gillis, Julia Scott, and Greggory Whitacre; eight great grandchildren, Jam Moore, Calvin Moore, Ryan Moore, Liliana Kelley, Felicity Kelley, Amelia Scott, Savannah Scott, and Emerson Gillis.

Visitation will be held at Tompkins Baptist Church on Friday, January 5, 2018 from 9:30 am until the 11:00 am memorial service time with Rev. Bill Faircloth and Rev. Johnny Kendrick officiating.
