Virginia “Ginger” Merle Martin Godbold of Pine Hill, AL died peacefully on January 3, 2022 after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Merle Martin; sister, Tammy Martin; and brother, Danny Martin.

She is survived by her devoted husband and companion of 48 years, Pat Godbold; two sons, Chris Godbold (Courtney) and Rusty Godbold (Debra); one daughter, Tiffany Godbold McIntosh (Kendrick); her four grandchildren, Makayla McIntosh, Cole, Clay, and Laura Martin Godbold; and their mother, Katie Cahoon Godbold. She is also survived by two brothers, Rex Martin (Patricia) and Darrell Martin; and one sister, Linda Martin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ginger was born September 11, 1957 in Demopolis, AL. She was a member of the County Line Baptist Church. Ginger was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, and would say that her greatest accomplishment in life were her children and grandchildren. Her favorite title to be called was “Gigi” by her grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home on Thursday, January 6, 2022 from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am service time with Rev. Benny Harrison officiating. Burial will follow at County Line Baptist Church Cemetery.
