Obituary for Donald E. Gillespie
Donald E. Gillespie age 91 of Linden, AL died December 31, 2021 at his home. He was born July 13, 1930 in Pelham, Georgia to Eugene and Estel Gillespie. He worked for Georgia Pacific in the pulp mill. He was a veteran us the U.S. Army and a member of Linden Baptist Church where he was a member of the Oscar Spencer Men's Sunday School Class.
He is survived by two daughters, Donna (Pat) Philen of Linden, AL., and Midge (Jim) Peppenhorst of Linden, AL; brother, Paul Gillespie of Sylacauga, AL; four grandchildren, Mary Margaret (Brad) Averitt, Doanan (Hannah) Philen, Cameron Peppenhorst, and Claudia Peppenhorst; one great grandson, Whitman Sanders Averitt.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy S. Gillespie.
Graveside funeral services will be held at Linden Memorial Park on Monday, January 3, 2022 at 10:00 am with Rev. Johnny Arnett officiating.
Everyone attending is encouraged to wear a mask and to social distance.
