Vergie Sheffield Hill age 79 a homemaker of Pine Hill, AL died March 26, 2018 at her home. She was born September 21, 1938 in Sunny South, AL to Horace Rodgers and Vergie Lucille Sheffield. She was a member of Wayne Baptist Church.

She is survived by her two sons, John Bruce Green and Archie Rogers “Dink” Green; two step sons, Lister Hill and Morris Hill; two daughters, Kathy Green Hicks and Sabrina Green Smith; four step daughters, Diane McClure, Pauline Gault, Debbie Hicks, and Sharon Brame; brother, William P. Sheffield; step brother, Norman Mathers; half sister, Gwen Grimes; two step sisters, Dottie Gaston and Sue Mathers; ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Horace Rodgers and Vergie Lucille Sheffield, sister, Edna Anderson and step sister, Sophia Champion.

Visitation will be held at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Graveside funeral services will be held at Sunny South Baptist Church Cemetery on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at 11:00 am.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to the Shriners Hospital.
