Catherine Larrimore Ponsell, 71, of Longwood, FL, died December 10, 2014 at her Son’s home in Gainesville, FL after a long illness. She was born in Dickinson, AL and resided in Longwood since 2001 after moving from Jackson, MS. Cathy was a retired computer programmer/analyst and most recently worked for Metavante Technologies, Inc., a firm that produces software for the banking industry.

Cathy enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, gardening, and travelling. She was a devoted Mother, Grandmother, Sister and Wife. She was much loved and will be very much missed by all of her family and multitude of friends.

There will be a visitation at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville, AL Thursday 12/18/14 from 6 to 8PM and Graveside services at Dickinson Cemetery Friday 12/19/14 at 11AM. A reception/luncheon will follow at the old Larrimore/Wilson/Newton home in Dickinson immediately after the service.

Cathy was survived by: Sons: Philip P. Waite, Jr., Stephen W. Waite, S. Alan Waite, Daughters-in-law: Robin (Phil), Heidi (Steve), and Hope (Alan) Waite, Grandchildren: Daniel G., Kari C., Emma J. Waite, Victoria R. Phelan, Todd P. Roig (Phil), Henry C., Sydney C., Ethan L. Waite (Steve), Caroline E., Rebecca C. Waite (Alan). Sister, Patricia A. Crosby, Aunt: Irma L. Carlson, Sisters-in-law Judith R. Larrimore and Carolyn R. Larrimore and a host of nieces and nephews.

Cathy was preceded in death by: Spouse: Dwight D. Ponsell, Parents: Johnnie G. and Bryce J. Larrimore, Brothers: Lennox W. Larrimore and Jeffrey G. Larrimore. Grandparents: Covington R. and Lucy C. Jeffrey and John W. and Clydie G. Larrimore., Granddaughter Mary Bryce Waite, and Brother-in-law Karl W. Crosby.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory will be gratefully accepted by: The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration, CurePSP, and the Alzheimer’s Association.
