Janie Black Ballard age 82 of Demopolis, AL, died September 7, 2014 at her home. She was born July 7, 1932 in Nicholsville, AL. She was a former seamstress and a member of Hope Baptist Church.

She is survived by four daughters, Margaret Elaine Johnson of Faunsdale, AL; Nancy Ballard Seale of Demopolis, AL; Brenda Faye Harper of Greensboro, AL; Kathy Ballard Moore of Pennington, AL; three brothers, Bill Black of Nicholsville, AL; Walter Black of Faunsdale, AL; Wayne Black of Nicholsville, AL; two sisters, Martha Smith of Thomasville, AL; and Sue Reed of Vineland, AL; six grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 from 6 to 8 pm. Funeral services will be held at O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at 11:00 am with Rev. Charles Spence officiating. Burial will be at Old Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Nicholsville, AL.
